Adonis Baths Waterfalls

Adonis Baths Waterfalls, located approximately 2 kilometers from Kili village in the Paphos district, are renowned for their exceptional beauty and secluded surroundings. To access the baths, one can take either the Tala or Akoursos road, both about 12 kilometers away from Paphos. Travelers using bicycles or motorcycles may find it more convenient to take the Tala Road.

What makes it special

Swim in natural pools beneath waterfalls.

Enjoy scenic views along the drive to the site.

Experience wildlife and possible interactions with local animals.

The waterfall was formed by the water from the surrounding ravines, which over time eroded the soil, creating a small lake. During the summer, many people are drawn to such places with cool water to relax and refresh themselves. Some adventurous individuals even climb the rock with ropes and jump into the lake, while others prefer to dive from a lower height.

Swimming in the baths, beneath the waterfall, is believed to have youth-preserving effects for women and to strengthen men. Adjacent to the baths, a statue of Adonis and Aphrodite can be found. A message accompanying the statue states that infertile women who wish to conceive should touch Adonis’s appendage for a chance at having many children thereafter.

According to Greek mythology, Adonis and Aphrodite had numerous offspring at this location, and it is believed that the people of Paphos are descended from these two lovers. Adonis Baths was their preferred place to spend time together and was also where Adonis tragically met his demise. He was fatally wounded by a man disguised as a wild boar and returned to the baths, where he died in the arms of Aphrodite. Overwhelmed by grief, Aphrodite pleaded for him to be sent back every six months.

Adonis Baths Waterfalls hold both historical and mythological significance, making them a popular destination for visitors seeking natural beauty and cultural exploration.

Visiting this place is truly a delightful experience, but please note that there is an admission fee. Additionally, it is important to be well-informed about the directions and operating hours of the theme park.

Adonis and Aphrodite are celebrated here. The water is cool and turquoise blue for swimming, there are 2 changing rooms, outdoor benches. Access to the pool/ waterfalls is along a wooden flight of stairs and not wheelchair friendly/ suitable.Entry fee 10 Euros, cash preferredVery enjoyable from a local tour on Quad bikes. I took a 3 hour trip to a few other attractions also. Highly recommended.Time spent here usually 45-90 mins at a quieter time of year. Each month the number of visitors will differ. There is a carpark big enough for coaches, minibuses, and the quad bike tours and trips available locally or through online bookings.

I visited this place last June. It features beautiful natural scenery and is well-maintained. I enjoyed swimming in the waterfall, where the water was clean and refreshing.Very clean changing rooms and toilet. Really had great time. The car route is challenging to drive but is worth the visit. A vehicle with strong tires is necessary.

We visited Adonis Baths Waterfalls in February and found it a really nice time of year to go — it was very quiet with hardly any crowds, which made the experience feel peaceful and unspoilt. The waterfalls themselves are lovely and definitely worth seeing. The setting is scenic and unique, and although we didn’t take a dip (the water and air temperature in February are still quite cool), it was still a great place to spend some time on a pleasant sunny day.The main downside is the drive to reach the attraction. The access road is extremely rough and, in places, honestly feels unsafe. You have to drive very slowly and carefully to avoid damage and make sure you get there in one piece. It’s definitely not a comfortable approach, especially in a standard hire car.Overall though, once you arrive, the waterfalls are well worth the effort — particularly in February when it’s quiet and relaxed.

Great little spot for a quick visit. We visited this place as part of a buggy tour and an hour was enough time to swim around in the waterfall pool and get a drink from the little cafe. The toilets look rustic from the outside but we're actually quite modern facilities. The whole place was kept clean and the staff were friendly.

Hey! I decided to leave a review because I saw a 1 star review from another person, and I don’t understand how it’s even possible for someone to do that to this place.I once accidentally found out about this place from my doctor, went there to see what’s going on, and at first, I saw what everyone sees there - a normal waterfall, some nature, some interesting statues. Then I saw some people swimming in that water. It was very nice, as I like refreshing water and I like challenging myself to such temperatures. It is not extremely cold - it’s at least 8-10 degrees now and it was 12-14 degrees back when I first swam, so pretty fine and manageable.I also realized something deeper about this place over time. There is a tree that’s extending horizontally over the water, and they put a rope with a log tied on it on that tree.As a result, the log is perfectly positioned at the water level, which gives us the opportunity to perform some complex exercises while refreshing in that cold water. That’s something I do weekly now. I go there and I swim in the cold water, then I get on top of that log, balance myself out, and then I first perform pull ups, and after getting on top of the tree I perform dips (there is a fork of the three positioned also in the same spot)This gives me an amazing feeling that the skills I obtained in my workouts are actually useful in real nature. That’s an amazing feeling and something I recommend to everyone to try (video attached)

Adonis Baths Waterfalls create a refreshing natural oasis with cold pools and invigorating dips amid quirky statues and adventurous rock jumps, themed around mythology. The scenic setting and fun vibe appeal to families, despite a bumpy access road and entry fee debates—it's a unique, invigorating escape.

If you hate your car and love wasting money, this is the place for you!The signs claim the road is "suitable for all cars," which is technically true if you consider a tank a "car." The road gets progressively worse until you are forced to walk. Your reward for surviving the drive? A €15 fee to look at a small, unimpressive pond. We shared our "adventure" with some locals later, and they laughed and said only tourists fall for it. Do yourself a favor and don't bother with this place.

This place is an outright disappointment and a perfect example of how a natural location can be turned into a tasteless tourist trap. €15 per person for entry is not just expensive, it is outright robbery for what is offered. The area is neglected and poorly maintained, and the cheap, primitive statues look like props from a bad amusement park. Instead of any sense of nature or the myth of Adonis, you get visual clutter and a complete lack of aesthetic value. The waterfall was powerful, but the water had an unmistakably intestinal colour. Perhaps this is due to the season, but then the entrance fee should be reduced accordingly. The access road is in terrible condition. If you do not have an off-road vehicle, the drive becomes a serious test for both your car and your nerves. You can walk the entire site in about 15 minutes, and even that feels like time wasted. You will not want to stay there for a single moment.I strongly do not recommend visiting this place, it is not worth either your time or your money.
