In the vibrant heart of Kapparis, Protaras, lies a culinary haven that has captured my heart since moving to Cyprus – Karas Fish Tavern. This place is not just a restaurant; it’s a testament to the island’s love affair with the sea. Entering Karas, you’re greeted by a cozy atmosphere that artfully blends rustic charm with modern flair, reminiscent of being aboard a traditional Cypriot fishing boat.
The menu at Karas is a celebration of the sea. It offers an impressive array of dishes, each exuding the authentic flavors of the Mediterranean. The grilled sea bass, a masterpiece marinated in a blend of secret herbs and spices, and the seafood platter, a delightful mix of grilled fish, prawns, and calamari, are personal favorites that never fail to impress.
What truly elevates the experience at Karas is the impeccable service. The staff’s attention to detail and genuine Cypriot hospitality make every visit memorable. Conveniently located at Kennedy Ave 55, Paralimni, the tavern is a stone’s throw away from the main tourist spots, making it a perfect culinary escapade.
For seafood enthusiasts visiting Protaras, Karas Fish Tavern is a must-visit. Its fusion of fresh seafood, an inviting ambiance, and exceptional service promise an unforgettable dining journey through the flavors and charm of the Mediterranean.

Karas Fish Tavern Reviews
The dips were homemade. The calamari and octupus were also fresh, not frozen as it is in other places. Everything was fresh, properly cooked to perfection and very tasty, in generous portions! We also liked a lot the shrimp kritharaki with feta and the fact that the shrimps were properly cleaned and properly cooked! Service was very good also.
In overall, we liked it a lot especially for the fresh ingredients and the very good quality they offer! we will visit again for sure!
The boss himself makes sure everything is in order.
I recommend it 100%❣️❣️❣️
and served by mr Xristos , he is so welcoming and pleasant
I tried the fresh grilled fillet of sword fish the first time, was really good with some fish mezze, hummus and tzatziki. The second time i had a plate of atherina with fries and hummus, the best. My friends tried the octopus platter, salmon, tuna tartar and seafood spaghetti, they all really enjoyed the food and recommend their dishes. Id recommend this place at around 6:30 pm because its still bright outside but a bit breezy so its great for summertime.
