4.3Recenzje 26,353#15 w kulturze i historii

Po przybyciu do wejścia do Grobowców Królewskich w Pafos wiele osób odwiedzających to miejsce po raz pierwszy może nie od razu pojąć ogrom tego miejsca.

Co sprawia, że jest wyjątkowy

Explore at least three major tombs with impressive columns

Vast and expansive site offering additional ruins to discover

Affordable entry fee of €2.50 per adult; kids enter for free

Główne podziemne grobowce zostały starannie wykute w litej skale, niektóre przypominają rzeczywiste domy, a inne mają doryckie kolumny i ściany ozdobione freskami.

Consider bringing your own food and drinks as there is no on-site cafe available

Wear comfortable footwear due to extensive walking within the archaeological site

Research online about the different tombs before visiting as there is limited information provided on-site

Visit in winter seasons like March for fewer crowds and pleasant exploration conditions

An informative and great place to see burial chambers aged over 2000 years old. Sturdy shoes are recommended to walk from one tomb to another and to walk down uneven steps. You can see and enter as many tombs as you like. Also has good views of the sea and the shipwreck. Go early to avoid large crowds.

It's okay. We got some nice pictures. I quite like history/culture, but we walked all the way there and then walked around the huge site, so we were knackered before even starting. We didn't see the bus that takes you there until we'd explored the area a bit more, so I'd recommend looking for the tomb of kings bus if you don't have a transfer or bringing a card for a taxi, if you're not staying nearby. As others have said, they're not tombs of kings: they're tombs of officials, which was a bit disappointing to be honest. There are plaques dotted around to look at, and the map is perfectly readable (despite what others have said). However, you do have to buy the booklet for it. I think for the two of us the tickets and booklet came to about 10 euro. There's an early exit facing towards to beach, but I'm not entirely sure where it leads since we didn't take it. Final warning for the ladies - don't make the mistake of wearing flats and a long dress, if you visit. The area has lots of small rocks and stairs in and out of the tombs.

The Tombs of the Kings unfolds as a vast, atmospheric UNESCO-listed necropolis in Paphos, featuring impressive underground Hellenistic and Roman tombs carved into sandstone, complete with Doric columns and intriguing atriums, all set against breathtaking sea views. History enthusiasts will find it endlessly fascinating, with well-preserved chambers that evoke ancient burial practices, though no actual kings were interred here—just elite residents. At a bargain entry fee of just €2.50, it's exceptional value, but the large open site demands comfortable shoes for uneven terrain, plenty of water, and shade precautions in the heat, as steep steps lead into many tombs.

Be energetic keep hydrated. You need atleast 3-4hr of your day to witness these all 9 caves and experience the whole history first hand. Totally worth the view. They do have free drinking tap water there. Take time and enjoy the scenery

CLICKBAIT. No kings were buried here. So.. just tombs of rich families. Still pretty interesting. You will walk a lot, but i recommend downloading app "Pafos Unesco Park", which comes with easy map and audio guide, combined with tables on the site it's good enough. We spend here ~90 minutes.

We visited the Tombs of the Kings in Pafos and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the site. The underground tombs carved into the rock are impressive, and walking through them feels very unique and historical. It’s a fascinating place to explore, especially with children who like discovering hidden chambers and ancient structures. However, I’m giving 4 stars because there isn’t enough clear information explaining what exactly you are looking at. More detailed signs or descriptions would make the experience much better. Also, despite the name, these are not actually tombs of kings, which can be a bit misleading. Still, it’s definitely worth visiting if you’re interested in history

Went just after opening as it was lovely temperature. Easy walk from our hotel. Cheap entry fee & bought a guide book. Bought tickets there. Such a wonderful historic place to walk. Best to wear good footwear as large stones, steep steps. Spent a good morning here.

Must-See Historical Site (With a Major Caveat for Wheelchair Users) If you're a history enthusiast who loves exploring ancient structures, this site—with its incredible ancient tombs—is a must-visit. The experience is greatly enhanced by the small, informative notice boards placed at different locations, which give you excellent context on each tomb as you view it. The historical value alone makes this trip highly rewarding. Critical Accessibility Note (Power Wheelchair Users) Please read this if you require mobility assistance: While the site is spectacular, the paths are not wheelchair-friendly and present a significant challenge. They are very uneven, strewn with rocks and boulders, and navigating them was often more than difficult. I was lucky to have my daughter with me to help me through several difficult stages. I was unable to enter the tombs themselves due to these conditions, but I still found the visit worthwhile, if only for the magnificent views across the landscape. A positive note: I was not charged an entrance fee when visiting with my power wheelchair. In summary: Come for the history and the views, but be prepared for a very rough ride if you use a mobility device, and plan to bring assistance if possible.
