Get ready for an amazing walk because MoonWalk 2024 is back in the enchanted coastal town of Protaras. This year’s special Moon rise edition will have you experience the enchanting spectacle of the moon rising from the sea while musically strolling along the scenic Pernera-Protaras coastal promenade.
This enchanting spectacle will take place annually, this once-in-a-lifetime event taking place on just one evening – Friday, 20 September – between 20:00 and 23:00. For these three enchanting hours, the Protaras coastline will resonate with the sounds of Cyprus’s biggest street music festival. Put on by Paralimni Youth, with the cooperation of the Paralimni Municipality, MoonWalk 2024 guarantees a night of pure harmony and enchantment.
At last year’s festival, there were 30 stages that 132 musicians performed on down a winding main drag from the Ayios Nikolaos fishing shelter all the way to Fig Tree Bay. This year, if it is anything like previous years, the entertainment will be just as spectacular, with an eclectic mix of rocking genres including everything from rock, jazz, and funk to blues and sounds traditional to Greece, all animating the moonlit path.
At 22:45, when MoonWalk reaches its climax, all the musicians will perform a tribute in her honor for Kyriaki Pelagia by playing together in unity the songs of which she has dreamt, making it a truly MoonWalk experience.
What sets it apart is that it has combined music, nature, and community in the most beautiful way possible, turning the coastline of Protaras into a stage of magnificence through the night.
